The hikers met at the usual time and place, 09:30 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, and decided to take Evelyn's suggestion of hiking the Holcomb Creek Trail in Macon County. It was a cloudy January day but a comfortable temperature for hiking trails in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The damage left behind from hurricane Ivan was obvious. Huge trees lay at the base of Holcomb Falls. The dogs and hikers alike enjoyed this 3 mile hike.
